July 17, 2007 (Fairfax, Virginia) | Sensei Enterprises corporate officers Sharon D. Nelson, Esq. and John W. Simek have donated more than 30 refurbished computers to Reston Interfaith, a local non-profit serving Northern Virginia that promotes self-sufficiency through support and advocacy for those in need of food, shelter, affordable housing. Sensei’s information technology staff has worked diligently to restore computer after computer to ensure each workstation is fully operational and in good working order.
“We’ve been thrilled to work with Western Fairfax Christian Ministries over the last few years,” Ms. Nelson said. “But as their funding has diminished, we had more refurbished computers than they could use. So we are very pleased that we have another outlet for our rehabbed machines, where those who are economically disadvantaged can put these secondhand machines to great use!”
Mary Supley Foxworth, the Communications & Outreach Manager at Reston Interfaith is delighted and very appreciative of Sensei’s technology donation and contribution. “The computers Sensei has donated will be given to clients in our various social services programs.” She adds, “Many of our clients are pursuing educational or vocational training opportunities and/or working on improving job skills and looking for new job opportunities.” Ms. Foxworth believes many people take for granted that most households already have computers and states, “That is not necessarily true for people with low incomes or limited financial resources.”
All computers donated by Sensei will be used to help Reston Interfaith clients practice their computer skills, learn new software and technology, complete their schoolwork, connect to the Internet and find resources and opportunities.
