What Audiences Said

"Let me say I really enjoyed your presentations. They were informative and very well presented. It is rare that I attend a CLE that I wish had been longer but I could have set through several more hours..."

Michael Bernstein

"The event was as an informative and entertaining as any of Sensei's events that I've had the privilege of attending. Sharon's and John's vast combined knowledge is second to none."

Tina Fewell - Shoun Bach

"Sharon & John:
Wonderful presentation! I’m overwhelmed and always amazed at you two. Your presentations are so entertaining, informative and leave us wanting for more! You are a class act!"

Nancy J. Duff - The Duff Law Firm

"Dear Sharon and John,
I wanted to take a minute to thank both of you for presenting half of the program for the Solo-Small Firm Practitioner Forum in Melfa on Monday. Your extensive expertise in the area of practice management and law office technology combined with one of the most engaging speaking styles I have seen at a CLE resulted in great presentations. The Conference of Local Bar Associations Executive Committee cannot thank you enough for your continued participation in and support of our programs. We look forward to working with you in the future."

Nancy M. Reed - Reed & Reed, PC.

"...our first full onsite session was Sharon Nelson and John Simek's expert take on the ethical, compliance and eDiscovery implications of social media. This session was in our opinion the most dynamic, eye-opening and practical lecture of the day thanks to the many 'no way' examples of social media litigation pitfalls presented by the very charismatic and knowledgeable Sharon Nelson and John Simek..."

JoAnna Forshee - InsideLegal.com

"Thank you, Sharon & John! If you are ever in the area again, please let me know! Rita and I both extremely enjoyed your informative presentations. The two of you are a great team—you complement each other well!"

Lynne Carver Seay - Circuit Court Paralegal Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney

"Hi Sharon and John,
One of the joys of being a lawyer-judge is meeting and working with you—people who are experts at what they do but who do not take themselves too seriously. You are my key link to technology, what lawyers are doing, and the forensic world I must keep abreast of as a judge." "I cannot thank you enough for speaking at our National Bar Association meeting. I have already alerted our Judicial Council Program Chair for next year that I want you to run at least two more seminars. And yes, I subscribed to your blog!"

Federal Judge Gerald Bruce Lee

"Sharon and John: This is fan mail! Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the seminar last evening. You were both knowledgeable and informative without being boring, and I felt like I got a lot out of your presentation. Thanks again for the good stuff last night!"

Linda Stiles Shively - Needham Mitnick & Pollack PLC www.elderlawanswers.com

"Sharon and John, I wanted to let you both know how much I enjoyed this morning's CLE. It was a magnificent presentation. It was so well presented that on a scale of 1 to 10, it was a 20. It is one of the best, if not THE BEST CLE I have ever seen. Great job!"

Marc Matheny - ABA TECHSHOW Board Member

"Good Morning Ms. Nelson and Mr. Simek,

I was present at yesterday’s CLE and highly enjoyed both sessions you presented. I ran across something this morning that immediately reminded me of your first presentation. Apparently the water in Florida has come to Virginia-- http://joelatlas.com/Default.aspx#. The second picture on the Welcome tab shows the vehicular advertisement with his picture on it. Thank you for the education and entertainment.”

Robert Ambrogi's Law Sites Blog Mentions Sharon Nelson and John Simek

Robert Ambrogi's article  in his Law Sites blog "What ABA Techshow Shows About Tech" summed up the four themes which he felt predominated the show. About security he says,"We are insecure about security. Who’d a thunk a few years back that programs about digital security would draw big audiences at Techshow? One of the most popular programs there was a presentation on digital forensics by Sharon Nelson and John Simek of Sensei Enterprises, and one of the most talked-about events was John’s “prank” in which he tricked a majority of his audience into connecting to a bogus wireless network."  Read the entire story here...

Ride the Lightning Highlighted as a Top News Story in PinHawk

"Law Firm Falls Victim To Phishing Scam, Sued by Bank" a post by Sharon Nelson in her Ride the Lightning blog was cited in PinHawk by Editor Jeffrey Brandt.  He stated "I've been suggesting that as part of your security education practice, you should prank your users. Through the luck of timing and a restraining order, the North Carolina law firm managed to not have 336,000 additional reasons to improve their security (at least for now). With a fall court date, we'll see if they prevail. I agree with Sharon Nelson, it looks like there is some blame on both sides of the equation."  Read the full post here...

Sensei's Vice-President, John Simek, Quoted in ABA Journal News

Presenting "Understanding Network Penetration Testing" at an ABA Techshow session, John turned on his $100 WiFi Pineapple Mark IV and demonstrated how he could fool attendee devices in the conference room seeking a Wi-Fi connection into unwittingly connecting to the Pineapple. Smartphones, tablets and laptops often automatically seek such connections to any previously connected Wi-Fi source. The Pineapple pretends to be a known (or attractively named unknown) Wi-Fi source and thus becomes the middle man between the device and the internet enabling it to access data on the device. A must read...

Sharon Nelson Quoted in ABA Journal Law News Now

At an ABA Techshow session on data security for lawyers, Sharon Nelson, President of Sensei Enterprises Inc., and co-presenter Ben Schorr, CEO of the IT consulting firm Roland, Schorr & Tower, warned attendees that even solo and small firms are at risk of attack by hackers. Both Nelson and Schorr stated that untrained lawyers and office personnel are often the No. 1 chink in a law firm's defense. Updated ethics rules require lawyers to make reasonable efforts to insure that client data is secure. Read the article here...
